EASTERN REGION SKI RACE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2000
The Championships are being organised by the Eastern Region Ski Association with the help of Clubs in our Region. ERSA thanks WELWYN, their staff and all the clubs within our region for the help provided. The Championships will be run under FIS rules as varied by the Snowsport England and ERSA. A Course setter and TD if possible will be assigned from without the region.
QUALIFICATION OF ENTRY All competitors must have as their first Club, a Club which is affiliated to ERSA and each Club has to provide at least 3 race officials. All entries have to be made on the provided race entry forms ; handed to the Clubs Race Manager who will forward all the Clubs' entries together with one payment to the Race Secretary not later than October 5th 2000. All cheques must be made payable to E.R.S.A.
GIRLS & BOYS and AGE GROUP CHAMPIONSHIPS The Championships are run as a special slalom (2 runs, different courses, both runs to count) and will be run under F.I.S. rules varied by the Snowsport England and E.R.S.A. In each run the Girls and Boys will race first, followed by the Age Group Championships, females before males. A start list will be compiled using Snowsport England No 4. Seedlist. The top 15 seeded racers, male and female will be drawn. All unseeded racers will be drawn for start position.
TEAM EVENTS
Each Ski Club can enter one Team into the main event. Entry criteria and rules will be the same as for the Summer League. Competitors must race in date of birth order i.e. youngest first. Children's Team must consist of racers in the CH1 + CH2, B+G Age groups.One team member must be female and one must be male. Open Age Group Teams may comprise of any age group . One team member must be female and one must be male. Senior Teams must consist of racers who are in the Senior and Masters Age Groups . One team member must be female and one a male.
SPECIAL TEAM EVENT will consist of ANY 7 competitors, male or female from any age group. Competitors must race in date of birth order i.e. youngest first. TEAMS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED IF THIS RULE IS NOT ADHERED TO. A seeding system will be used and race rules will be the same as for the Summer League.
RACE OFFICIALS To ensure the smooth running of the Championships, each Club must put at least 3 RACE OFFICIALS forward to help run the event on the day as agreed at the Race Managers meeting. No experience is needed. Official will get a written job dSnowsport Englandription. Hot and Cold drinks will be provided during the race but as officials tend to rejoin their clubs and family for the period between the two runs they are asked to provide their own lunch.
